Porsche 911 2.7RS

1976 - Porsche 911 2.7 RS Lightweight #1014

Porsche 911 2.7RS

Ordered in 'Lightweight' specifications - meaning a 75kg weight saving over the standard road car -this 2.7 RS was successfully rallied in 1976 and 1977 by Robert Bianco Mengotti (known as Robim). It became the first 911 to wear the Gulf Livery in 1979, when Sergio Schizzi successfully competed in many of the Italian rallies in that year.

Although the 1980 homologation rules excluded the RS due to its age,#1014 was so successful that Schizzi decided to give the car a minor face-lift. Thanks to a set of G-Series bumpers, Schizzi was able to fool the rule makers for a full season! it has since been returned to original specification.
